Brief History
David J. Morales founded DJM Construction Co., Inc. in April of 1990 at the age of 22. Mr. Morales had just graduated from the University of Southern California and completed numerous years of work experience with his father's painting company when he decided to take on the task of starting his own company. DJM is now recognized as one of Southern California’s most competitive General Contractors. Our focus is on new construction, modernization, design/build, and seismic upgrades for both General Construction and Engineering type projects. Our client list has grown substantially over the years and includes such organizations as: United States Air Force, City of Los Angeles, Department of Veterans Affairs, United States Army Corps of Engineers, General Services Administration, and Los Angeles Unified School District.

A healthy volume of work has always been maintained through our competitive bidding process carried out by our highly experienced estimating staff, who combined hold over 75 years of experience in the industry. Negotiated contracts represent a moderate portion of our business, indicating the confidence placed in our ability to deliver quality projects at a reasonable cost. Since the beginning, DJM has completed large percentages of the projects we are awarded using our own expert craftsman and strong subcontractor relationships built over the years. This practice highly contributes to and reinforces our cost-saving proposals and project administration.
